友好交流
　　中山市是广东省著名侨乡，旅居世界五大洲87个国家和地区的海外侨胞、港澳台同胞有80多万人，他们在中山与世界的交流中起了重要的桥梁作用。
　　中山市积极开展与世界各国、各地区人民的友好交流活动，促进了中山的经济建设和社会事业的发展。1988年和1997年，中山分别与日本守口市、美国檀香山市缔结为友好城市。
　　Zhongshan is one of the famous ancestral hometowns for overseas Chinese in Guangdong Province. The number of overseas Chinese whose ancestry can be traced to Zhongshan exceeds 800,000, scattered in 87 countries and regions around the world, including Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan region. They are playing an important role of bridge in facilitating the exchanges between Zhongshan and the outside world.
　　Zhongshan actively carries out friendly exchanges with the people worldwide, which contribute to its development in economy and various social causes. Zhongshan established sister-city relations with Moriguchi City of Japan and Honolulu City of USA respectively in 1988 and 1997.
